Employment Based Cyprus Citizenship

Under the newly enacted Population Registry (Amendment) Law of 2023, Cyprus offers an expedited 3 yearpathway to citizenship, with a streamlined process for highly qualified employees. Eligible individuals include those employed by Cyprus International Business Companies with a Work Permit as a Director, Key Personnel, or Specialist. Additionally, employees with any permissible permit earning a minimum of €2,500 per month and holding a university degree (or equivalent, or proof of two years in a relevant position) qualify for this fast-track route. 

Employment Based Cyprus Permanent Residency

Obtaining a permanent residency permit through employment under a Cyprus International Business Company (IBC) within 5 years. 
Once an IBC is registered (which the applicant can have 100% ownership) the applicant will be employed as the Director under this company. Doing so, the applicant in a month time will be granted a valid Cyprus temporary residence card (which is renewed every 2 years). After residing legally in Cyprus for five years, the applicant will be entitled to apply for a permanent residency permit. It is important to mention that the applicant cannot stay out of Cyprus for more than three months continuously as the permit would be cancelled automatically.

Investment Based Cyprus Permanent Residency

Obtaining a permanent residency permit through Investing in Cyprus, within 2 months.
The investor can choose any of four investment options for obtaining permanent residence in Cyprus:

  1. Residential properties.

  2. Commercial real estate.

  3. Shares of Cypriot companies.

  4. Shares of Cypriot investment funds.

Legally Residing Based Cyprus Permanent Residency

Cyprus temporary residence permit,  allows Non-European Union passport holders to extend their stay in Cyprus for more than 3 months (90 days). It will also enable tourists and visitors to extend their stay no matter what was the duration of their initial visa. 

Cyprus temporary residence permit is valid for 1 year and can be renewed on an annual basis. Under this permit, a person is allowed to live in Cyprus as a visitor (without the right to work). After residing legally for 5 years, he/she can apply for Cyprus Permanent Residency.
